Kelis Details Car Accident That Almost Threw Her & Her Children Off a Cliff During California Blizzard

Kelis opened up about a terrible accident she and her children were involved in over the weekend in the midst of the California blizzard.

The 43-year-old "Milkshake" hitmaker took to Instagram on Sunday (February 26) to share a video of the aftermath of the accident as a tow truck pulled her truck to safety.

She explained what happened and revealed how she was making the best of the near-death experience.

In the video, Kelis explained that that they had been stuck "outside for a while" as they waited for the tow to pull her truck to safety. Regarding the accident, she explained that the truck was almost "hanging off a cliff."

Thankfully, it seemed like everyone was safe and the musician was in good spirits. She showed off her "rescue fashion" - including a lot of layers and a headlamp since she said that it was very dark outside - and urged fans to "always be prepared."

"My plan was to take the kids to the snow , but we almost fell off a cliff," she wrote in the accompanying caption.

We are so glad that Kelis and the rest of her family are safe!
